Privacy Policy

This policy covers vutiafrica.co.ke, operated by Vuti Technologies Limited ("Vuti Tech", "we", "us"). It explains what information we collect when you use this website, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.

We only collect what you give us directly, or what your browser shares automatically:

• Contact form: your name, email, phone number (if provided), the topic you selected, and your message.
• Donate form: your name, email, phone number, preferred drop-off/pickup method, address (for pickups), the condition of the equipment, and what you're donating.
• Automatically, via analytics: pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you found the site, collected through Google Analytics.
• Live chat: if you message us through the chat widget, whatever you send us — including your name or email if you choose to share it — is collected by our chat provider, Tawk.to.

• To respond to your enquiry or arrange a donation pickup/drop-off.
• To send you a confirmation email when you contact us.
• To understand how people use the site, so we can improve it.

We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for anything beyond the above.

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run this site, and share only what they need to:

• Resend — delivers the emails you receive from us (form confirmations and our replies).
• Google Analytics — processes anonymized usage data. See Google's privacy policy.
• Tawk.to — powers the live chat widget and processes chat messages and related data. See Tawk.to's privacy policy.

Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish returning visitors and measure site usage, and our live chat widget (Tawk.to) sets a cookie to keep your conversation going if you navigate between pages. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies beyond this.

We keep contact and donation submissions only as long as needed to respond to you or complete the donation, and delete them once that's done unless we're required to keep a record for longer.

Under Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019, you can ask us to show you what information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email hello@vutiafrica.co.ke and we'll act on it. You can also lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) Kenya if you believe we've mishandled your information.

We take reasonable steps to protect the information you share with us, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure — we can't guarantee absolute security.

If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and change the date at the top.
