What's the difference between Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber cabling?
Cat5e and Cat6 are both copper Ethernet cable — Cat6 supports higher speeds and longer reliable runs than Cat5e. Fiber carries data as light instead of electricity, supporting much higher speeds over much longer distances, and is what typically connects buildings or floors rather than individual desks. We spec the right mix for the distances and speeds your site actually needs.
How long does structured cabling installation take for an office?
For a single floor, often a few days to a couple of weeks depending on the number of points and whether it's new construction or retrofitting an occupied space — retrofits generally take longer since work has to happen around your team.
