Cloud Advisory

"The cloud" is computing infrastructure — servers, storage, software — that runs on remote data centers and is accessed over the internet, instead of hardware you own and maintain onsite.

Guidance on what actually belongs in the cloud, what doesn't, and how to get there without disrupting what's already working.

Why it matters

Avoid a bad migration

A clear-eyed view of what belongs in the cloud and what doesn't, before you move anything.

Cost control

Decisions weighed against real running costs, not vendor promises.

No unplanned outages

A migration sequenced to avoid disrupting the systems your business depends on.

What this covers

  • An honest assessment of what should move to the cloud and what should stay put
  • Comparing options against cost, control, and what the business actually needs
  • A migration plan sequenced to avoid disrupting day-to-day operations

Frequently asked questions

Is it cheaper to move to the cloud, or keep our own servers?

It genuinely depends — cloud trades upfront hardware cost for an ongoing subscription, which can be cheaper or more expensive depending on your usage pattern and how long you'd otherwise keep hardware running. We compare it against your actual numbers rather than assuming cloud is automatically cheaper, which isn't always true.

What's the difference between Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace and 'the cloud' generally?

Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace are cloud-based productivity tools — email, file storage, office apps. "The cloud" more broadly also covers infrastructure like servers and databases hosted remotely (e.g. AWS). Most businesses are already using cloud productivity tools even if they haven't moved their core infrastructure yet.

Can we move to the cloud gradually, or does it have to happen all at once?

Gradually, almost always — a phased migration sequenced around what won't disrupt your day-to-day operations is exactly what we plan for. Moving everything at once is usually the riskier, not the more efficient, option.
